Notes, Quotes, Conversations, and Observations

Warning: some of the following dialog that occurred in our home over the last several weeks may not be appropriate for the squeamish.

  • On my birthday Emma made me a lovely card. The note inside read..."I love you and the cat fru up."
  • I overheard the following conversation between Emma and Rachel just after giving them some chocolate flavored soy milk.

Emma: My milk tastes sour!

Rachel: Yeah, mine too. It tastes like rotten oranges!

Emma: Mmm, mine tastes good!

Rachel: I like mine too!

*Mommy note: The milk was NOT spoiled.

  • One of Rachel's math pages this week instructed her to draw 19 cookies inside a cookie jar for the bear on the page and to color the bear. After drawing quite a few cookies she stated that her bear likes to eat honey. I asked her to finish by coloring the bear. She said her bear is a polar bear and didn't need colored since the paper was already white (I'm sure a ploy to move on to the next worksheet). When I explained that polar bears probably don't eat honey but things like fish and seals she replied, "okay, those are seal heads in the jar".
  • Another Rachel quote from just last night..."My throw up almost looks like lava." Certainly was a keen observation!
