Rachel's Birthday

To celebrate her birthday,
Rachel wanted to invite one of her best friends to stay for a sleep over.
She invited Bethany and they had a blast.

We took Bethany and the family over to the Wild Side for some party fun.

Then we had DIY cupcakes, complete with unicorn toppers, sprinkles, and whatever else sugary and sweet they could think of to top off the cupcakes.

Emma's Birthday

We made "Mexican flowers" for party decorations.

This was our first attempt at cake pops.
They were such a big hit we might have to try out some more recipes. The party crowd.

The make your own fruit kabobs were also a hit with the party crowd.

The pinata.
Emma has wanted one for several years now.
Guess it was a good year to do one, since the weather was beautiful.
I think in the last 9 years, this was the first year we could have done an outdoor party.
In fact, last year the weather was so lousy, at least one of the girls stayed over night and we had unexpected guests. A truck slid and flipped over on the road in front of our property. The young man and his fiance spent part of the evening with us waiting for the state troopers and then a ride from relatives.
I was thankful for the improvement in the weather and for no unexpected guests.
Someone had a birthday!

Not One Single Picture

I must admit I did not even take one single picture at my parents 50th wedding anniversary. To get the visual scoop you'll just have to check out my sisters' blogs (listed at the bottom of my page).

Belated Birthday Post

I'm late getting Emma's birthday pictures posted but here they are.

The skirt on the dancing Barbie totally flopped but I didn't have the time or energy to fix it. Besides, none of the little girls noticed. They were too bedazzled by the pretty Barbie in the cake.

Where do you put candles on a Barbie cake? Ours ended up with a flaming skirt.
It was an afternoon of party fun.
