 I'm a little confused....
isn't it April 23?
Where's the green grass?
The blossoms on the trees?
I know they were there yesterday.

I think the birds must be confused too.
Hopefully they won't decide to head south again.
And I know our snowman is confused!
Is it time to grill or bake Christmas cookies!!!????

I admit we get a little crazy around here when it come to Christmas cookies.
This year we did something good with the results of our obsession.
Emma I and delivered MANY cookies to a local assisted living residents.
We had a really good time and she wants to go back to visit some of the residents regularly.
Our "Thankful Chain"
Every supper we had together between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we would each write something we were thankful for on a tiny slip of paper, then tape them together forming our "Thankful Chain".
The chain became an added decoration to our tree this year.
This ritual along with lighting Advent candles each evening has been a highlight for our children.

Christmas Eve and happy about their new Christmas jammies.

Christmas morning ready for church.
Enjoying some stocking stuffers.
So glad they can still be thrilled with something as simple as bubble gum!
Hope YOUR Christmas is merry and bright!

Yes folks, today is OCTOBER 29...

these are pictures from today...

AND that IS a "snowchicken" sitting on our patio chair!

The Winter Powerhouse was no match for the Red Green Snowshoes Ken came up with. Emma and Rachel managed to stay atop most of the snow.

A section of our driveway.
When the sun comes out it seems to warm things up just enough to cause large amounts of snow to slide off our pines. I like to call them tree avalanches.
I just couldn't do the sparkling white stuff justice with my camera.
Ice Princesses?

Some of the plowed snow made good slides, ski mountains, and castles.

The back yard has been basically inaccessible. This is the view from our back garage door.

Thankfully, I can't think of one single thing we would need out of that shed just now.
Just to give you a LITTLE more perspective on amounts of snow...Ken is positioned sideways at the end of our driveway...notice the height of the snow right behind the tractor? That's what the snowplows plowed up into our drive, keeping us snowbound until Ken was able to make his way down there and clear the last of it Sunday evening. Since then we have had another 20 inches? I'm being to lose track of inches.

Rachel is FIVE today! Our little girl is growing up.

This third and final picture is Rachel's favorite.
No, I really DON'T have too much time on my hands!
I just let the silly birthday girl side track me with her fun Photoshop requests.

My Little People Playing With Their Little People

Found this post I started last fall but didn't get published.
Thanks to a friend, her three cowboy sons, and Red the pony,
our girls were each given a very nice lesson in basic riding and pony care.

REVERSE?

Thanks Shannon- It was a dream come true for two little girls.

Fishing Trip

A fun day of fishing this summer with some of Ken's family.
