A little late getting our Easter photos out but here they are. Emma had fun hunting for eggs and later hiding them to hunt for them again and again and again!

Oh, The Carnage!

Guess you saw what became of the first bunny. Well this is what happened to the second one. It became a bunny massacre as there were two others who fell to a similar fate. A few tears were shed. Not out of remorse for the carnage but by Rachel who after her last bite discovered there were no more bunnies to eat!

Poor Poor Bunny!

This poor bunny arrived at our house this week. Guess he thought he was safe making it as far as he did and carrying with him a chocolate carrot as a piece offering. Sorry bunny...

Busy Bees

Well, it is turning into quite a busy week for us! Monday we went with my Mom to a yard sale, the library and had lunch at the park. I tried out the new camera phone at the park. Now I just need to figure out how to get the pictures onto the computer.Today we spent most of the day at Helping Hands. It is a group that gets together once a month to make blankets, health kits, school kits, and baby layettes for needy people. I enjoy helping out and Emma likes to play with different toys and the other children that come. Tonight we were with our Small Group which is currently studying "The Purpose Driven Life". Tomorrow is library day and in the afteroon Emma and Rachel will go to a friend's house to play while Mommy goes to an appointment. Thursday their friends come to our house for the day. Friday Ken should have off work and is also my Dad's birthday. Something will have to be planned for Pa's birthday if Emma has any say in it. And of cousre this weekend is Easter. Busy busy busy!

Wild Happenings

We have had some wildlife activity around here lately. Last week a flock of approximately six turkeys walked through the field behind our house. Last evening we had a rabbit outside our bedroom window (no I didn't see him hiding any eggs). And this morning two deer were kicking up their heels and frolicing in our backyard. The critters must be feeling spring in the air! We've also have a mysterious visitor during the night on more than one occasion. At least three times now my bird feeders have been more than half full at dusk and by morning were emptied. I don't think it could be a bear because they usually end up making a mess of things and neither feeder was knocked of the double shepherd's hook. I don't believe it was squirrels or turkeys because they aren't nocturnal. A possum isn't dexterous enough to get at the seeds. Do deer eat bird seeds? Maybe some night we'll set up a sting operation and catch the culprit!

Ken's Girls

Pooh Bear Extinct?

I have done a search on the web for another bear and cannot find one identical.He must be extinct! I never knew there were so many classic poohs out there by Gund. If anyone finds a match let me know.

Pooh Troubles

I may have to search for a spare Pooh Bear just in case there is another incident. Yesterday, as usual, when we left the house Emma had to take beloved Pooh Bear along.
All was fine until 8:30pm (bedtime) when she and I discovered he had been left behind. The look on her face was so sad I could have cried too. She looked as though someone cut off her left arm (she is left handed by the way) and shipped it to China along with her very best friend. Tears started to fall and sobbing commenced until I explained that he was just down the road at Pap's house and Daddy offered to go pick him up. In her bedtime prayers she thanked Jesus that Daddy went to bring her Pooh Bear home. Now, how to find the exact little bear that has been equally worn for a spare? Because,if any of you have read "The Velveteen Rabbit" you would understand that her "silly old bear" has been loved so much he practically walks around this house eating from a honey pot tucked under his arm!

Photo Problems

I am trying to figure out how to upload some pictures for everyone to see but, seem to be having technical difficulties. Soon as I get the bugs worked out I will post some photos of the two little chicks in our nest.

Welcomed Thoughts

Well, here I am entering the world of blogs. So far I have just been a reader and an admirer of several friends and family that have blogs and actually take time to maintain them and stay in touch via modern technology. I'm sure this blog will not be as well kept up as my sister Julia's, or as perfectly done as my sister Lois' or as well written and entertaining as Ann-marie's (who's blog I enjoy as much as any good novel) but, I do hope it will keep family and friends informed of happenings in our nest. And that at least some of my recorded thoughts will be welcomed.
