Free at last! Free at last!

Well, sort of, except for the invisible fence thing that gives me a reminder when I've gone a little too far.
Last week, when my family finally cut me loose, they found out just how fast I can run!
And run I did. Right through a big mud puddle for the first thing. Then across the back yard, to the one not so well marked boundry, where I got my reminder about going too far. I made it back to safety by very quickly turning around and again at full speed hitting the barrier and the "zap zone" to return to my backyard.

I have been much more careful about the boundries and have not attempted to go close to those little flags since!

Earth Day

Last weekend we appropriately spent our time planting trees. With help from Ken's Mom we planted, watered, staked, tubed and netted approximately 160 seedlings around our 3 1/2 acres. Tree species included Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir, Balsam Pine, Green Ash and Red Maples. Hopefully the trees will grow quickly and escape the eager taste buds of our deer neighbors.

Recipe Samplers

Mommy and the Aunts are making a cookbook. That means every once in a while someone needs to sample a recipe or help with the clean-up. We're more than happy to lend a hand... or a tongue!

It's hard work but someone has to do it!

Boring Blog???

I was told recently by a certain family member (I will not mention names but HE IS pictured in this posting) that my blog has been boring. Sad to say this may be true for those of you who check it out on a daily basis. Hopefully the posting frequency will pick up since a few of those excuses has been crossed of the

" Top Ten Excuses or My Blogging Lapse" list.

SNOW AGAIN!!!!

Springtime???

Two weeks ago we had a little taste of spring. Then we got our "robin snow" just in time for Easter. This picture was taken Good Friday morning.

After seeing the snow Emma said "Winter is back! We get more presents!" Well I guess she was right about the presents. Emma and Rachel each got an Easter basket but, I hope she was wrong about the winter!

During our brief spring encounter we were able to get in some outdoor work and play.

There is nothing quite like dirt under your nails and... earthworms for playmates.

A quote from Rachel while playing with her worm friend, "OOOH NOO mine broke!" Guess she ended up with two friends instead of one.
