Earth Day

Last weekend we appropriately spent our time planting trees. With help from Ken's Mom we planted, watered, staked, tubed and netted approximately 160 seedlings around our 3 1/2 acres. Tree species included Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir, Balsam Pine, Green Ash and Red Maples. Hopefully the trees will grow quickly and escape the eager taste buds of our deer neighbors.

Some of us had it a little easier than others.

One of our baby trees before being tubed. The tubes act as mini greenhouses and protection from deer browsing.
